What does it mean when a book's condition is fine?

Fine: Although fine usually means less than good, as in "I'm fine," in the used book world it means better than good! Fine means a book is almost new. It's been opened and read, but there are no defects to the jacket or pages.

What is the difference between very good and good?

Accepted Answer

Very Good: Shows some small signs of wear, but no tears on binding or pages.

Good: All pages are intact, but book shows signs of being loved.

Are there other conditions or codes not listed here?

Yes! But CSB doesn't sell books that are in less than good condition, unless it is an ex-library copy. In the case of ex-library copies that will be noted in the description.

What is an ex-library book or discarded book?

A book that once was in circulation at a library. The book will most likely have library stickers on it including, but not limited to, barcodes, genre stickers, shelving stickers and notes written on the inside cover. You may even get lucky enough to find a library check out card!

Will my book look just like the picture?

The book you see online is the exact book you will receive. I pulled the book off my bookshelf, took a picture of the front and back cover and placed it back on the bookshelf where it sits and waits for it's new owner. You may notice a shadow or a glare on the cover of the book, that won't be there when you get the book... unless you angle the book just right next to a window ;)

Well, that depends! If you read the book and just didn't like it, I'm sorry that was the case, I hate when that happens.

If the book arrived damaged, and not in the condition the website stated, take a picture right away and email it to me at coastalsoulbooks@gmail.com and you may be issued a refund.

How much is shipping?

Right now shipping is $4.50 which doesn't quite cover the current shipping cost of $4.63 per pound.

As a shopper I hate high shipping costs and sometimes that deters me from buying something. As a small business owner I can't let shipping take me down. My hope for the near future is to reduce shipping costs and offer free shipping on certain orders. Thank you for understanding and sticking with me until then. :)

Is there a way for me to search for a particular book?

Yes, for used books, there is a search bar located at the top right of the homepage. Inventory is limited, so if I don't have what you're looking for, let me know, and I'll keep an eye out.

For new books- the search bar is located close to the bottom of the page. This will take you to bookshop.org, where you can order a new book, and I will earn part of the profit. Bookshop.org will ship the book directly to you.
